Passing the guard from the stand position

Do you have trouble passing the guard even after standing up and opening it?

Learn from Rickson Gracie in the following video how you should position yourself to make your opponent on the bottom uncomfortable.

The master emphasizes that your goal is not to give them time to recover. Passing the guard is about not letting your opponent adjust themselves. 

So, once you stand up and open the guard, you must apply pressure immediately. Whatever your opponent on the bottom does, do not allow them to create distance and feel comfortable. 

Once you've avoided your training partner creating space and kept yourself heavy on top of them, you can use any approach to pass. You can go over the legs, under the legs, inside the legs—whatever you want.
